Chu Chu
Benny, Chu Chu, and Lilly ended up at Hamilton Animal Services when their owner passed away. When the shelter reached out to us for help, we knew we had to rescue this trio together. They’d been through enough without having to be separated from each other. Thankfully, we had a foster home willing to take in these sweet seniors.
A short while after their rescue, their foster family noticed that Chu Chu was feeling poorly. She didn’t want to move from her favourite spot, and she had started to leak small spots of urine and feces. She was still happy for pets and attention, but it was clear she wasn’t well. They took her to the vet where she stayed for a couple of days on fluids and medication while we awaited an ultrasound technician to come in. Sadly, Chu Chu’s health took a turn for the worst before the tech arrived. Despite the vet’s best efforts, Chu Chu’s health declined quickly. She was beyond help and we didn’t want her to suffer any longer. It was suspected she had lymphoma, and it had take over Chu Chu’s body.
She was held close and cradled while the vet administered the solution to allow Chu Chu to pass without stress or pain.
We’re so sad Chu Chu is gone so soon after we met her. But we take solace in the fact that she was loved and cared for by her foster family and the clinic in her last days.
Rest in peace, Chu Chu. We’ll never forget your beautiful face.
