Blanche
* Blanche found her forever home with a wonderful family! Woo hoo! *
Blanche ended up at Hamilton Animal Services when her owner passed away. This poor girl was very shy at the shelter, but with patience, staff brought out her sweet side. There was no information found about Blanche, as to her age, if she was spayed, or even her name. We’re not sure the exact circumstances surrounding her life before ending up at the shelter, but no family members came forward to claim her after her owner passed.
We were happy to get Blanche out of the shelter when a foster home opened up. She’s did a lot of hiding at the beginning, but would eventually come out for pets and treats. The vet suggested starting her on a special diet to try to help her lose a few pounds, so she’s been on Satiety dry food since.
We had Blanche spayed, and her teeth were cleaned while she was under. She did great for the surgery and now she’s ready to find her forever home!
Here’s a note from Blanche’s foster home:
“Blanche is a sassy little sweetie. We don’t know a lot about her, except that she ended up at Animal Services after her owner died – she seems to have had a rough time there and must’ve been so scared, since she was extremely shy when I first got her. It took her about 2 weeks to do anything except hide in her carrier whenever I came into the room, but she finally came out of her shell! Once she did, more of her personality finally shone through.
She’s pretty skittish, but very sweet. When she gets used to her environment and the people around her, she will come up for skritches and pets and will start purring and wanting to know what’s going on. She’s actually quite an easy kitty – she sleeps a ton during the day, and her favourite spot is actually sleeping underneath her cat bed like a little turtle.
I think Blanche needs a calm, quiet household without young children; she’s a bit of a chicken, so an environment where there’s not much going on to startle her would be best. I have two other cats and she doesn’t seem to want to interact with them at all, so I don’t think she’d have any issues flying solo and having somebody’s undivided attention!”
