Peach
* Peach found her forever home with lovely people! Yippee! *
Peach came into Hamilton Animal Services as a “stray.” She spent a couple of weeks at the shelter and was not claimed by her owner. It’s more likely she was abandoned by her owner rather than being a true stray, so it was not shocking that nobody came forward for her.
Either way, we were happy to get Peach out of the shelter and into a foster home. She now has a very large enclosure to explore, and she’s loving all the space.
Peach had a vet visit, and it was discovered she had a urinary infection. She was put on medication, and she was feeling better in no time. Now, Peach is ready to find her forever home!
Here’s a note from Peach’s foster dad:
“Peach is everything you want in a hamster. She isn’t inclined to bite, nor is she fearful of people. In fact she actually seems to enjoy people, especially if you give her a treat and bring her somewhere new and safe to explore. As someone who personally owns hamsters I can say without a doubt Peach is the most tolerant hamster I’ve ever met, she never fought taking her meds and she would even come out on her own whenever she heard me open her cage. I’m positive Peach is the BEST hamster for anyone who has ever been interested in one and could provide a good home.”
Hamsters need space…
Hamsters need more living space than the typical “hamster cage” you’ll find at local pet store. Here are some examples of fantastic hamster enclosures that give hamsters room to explore, burrow, and live their best hammy life!
