Wasabi
* Wasabi found his forever home with lovely people and other cats to play with. Yay! *
Wasabi was brought into Hamilton Animal Services after being found as a stray. As well as suffering from a respiratory issue, Wasabi infested with fleas and had a large open wound on his neck that had likely been caused by a cuterebra (bot fly larvae). This poor guy was having a rough go!
Shelter staff administered flea treatment, and they cleaned up the wound. Wasabi’s stray time at the shelter came and went, but no owner came forward to claim him. We were happy to get this beautiful kitten out of the shelter and into the vet for a check-up. Blood tests came back normal, but he did have the runs, so he was started on a special kitten food that helped firm up his stool. While in his foster home, Wasabi’s neck wound healed, and he recovered from the respiratory virus. He did great for his neuter surgery. We got him up to date on his vaccines, and he’s now ready to find his forever home!
His foster home report that he’s the sweetest, purry-est kitten they’ve ever fostered. A real love bug! When he’s not cuddling, he is VERY active. His day is approximately 80% crazy kitten, and 20% cuddle monster. We’re asking that Wasabi have at least one other cat in the home who can match his energy level…which is very high. The older cats in his foster home are only so tolerant of his shenanigans. There are two dogs in his foster home, and he will play with their wagging tails, but he otherwise doesn’t interact with them very much.
Wasabi will play with pretty much any toy he comes across, and he loves using a flat scratching pad and scaling a very tall scratch post. He’s a lovely kitten who deserves a fantastic home.
