Misty
*We’re thrilled to announce that Misty has found her forever home with a lovely family and sweet dog brother named Harley. Congratulations, Misty! We’re so happy for you.
Misty came to Ladybird from Hamilton Animal Services where she ended up as a stray. No one came to claim Misty, and even though she had a microchip, shelter staff received no communication from her owner, despite trying to reach out several times. This poor girl had tons of bald patches, scabby skin, and had a pretty terrible flea infestation. Luckily, HAS started her on a flea treatment and her fur is growing back nicely.
Ladybird was able to get Misty into a loving foster home when one opened up. When Ladybird brought Misty to the vet it was discovered that she had quite a strong heart murmur. A thoracic ultrasound was done to take a closer look. Luckily, Misty’s heart appears to be compensating well despite the murmur, which is good news. Misty was put on a special diet to help her shed a bit of weight, as well.
Misty is now ready for adoption. She’s doing great despite still having a bit of weight to shed.
Please adopt Ladybird, Misty!
Foster Update, September 18, 2022
“When Misty first arrived, she crawled into our dog crate and burrowed under the bed. It only took about 2mins to coax her out, and ever since she’s been an absolute lovebug! She loves to be patted and if she doesn’t think you’re paying enough attention, she’ll grab your hand and pull it to her face for a rub. Her purr is deafening and she has the most wonderful croak of a meow.
She is extremely gentle with her claws, but does like to give little love-bites when she’s overstimulated (never hard enough to leave a mark).
She’s very calm and doesn’t seem interested in toys. All she wants is your love and affection!”
*Misty has bonded nicely with the dog living in her foster home, but not so much the cats. Because of this we recommend that Misty be adopted by a family without other cats living in the home.
