Leela
* Leela found her forever home with amazing people! Yay! *
Leela was brought into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray. This poor little kitten was very sick when she arrived. She had an upper respiratory infection, which had glued her eye shut with gunk, and she had a parasite called coccidia that was causing her to have severe diarrhea. HAS staff reached out to us for help, and we were thankful to be able to get Leela out of the shelter and straight to the vet. Leela was started on medication and a special diet to help her through this illness. Over the next few weeks, Leela’s eye healed up, and she recovered from her illnesses. Big thank you to Leela’s foster home and all the vets and staff who looked after her.
Leela is now ready to find her forever home!
Here’s a note from Leela’s foster home:
“Leela is the sweetest kitten and it has been a joy to watch her grow up in the past month. She had a rough start but surprised all of us with her tenacity and big appetite. She just wants to be held and will be purring non-stop as soon as she sees you! I don’t have any cats, so I don’t know how Leela would be with them, but she loves my dog and is always rubbing against her and even grooms her face. She is VERY bossy at meal time and despite having toys, her favourite thing to play with is toilet paper rolls. At the end of the day all she wants to do is curl up on your chest and watch TV. She would make a great addition to any family.”
* Please note – Leela has only had one set of vaccines. She will need two more sets in monthly intervals before she is old enough to be spayed. The vaccines and any other treatment between the adoption date and her spay appointment will be the responsibility of her adopter, at the vet clinic of their choice. Ladybird will cover Leela’s spay and microchip at the vet clinic in Dundas, Ontario where she has received all her treatment. Adopters must be willing to get Leela to that clinic for her pre-scheduled appointment in January 2023.
