Miss Pearl
* Miss Pearl found her forever home with lovely people! Yay! *
Miss Pearl was surrendered to Hamilton Animal Services because her owner no longer wanted her. She had a mild skin infection around one of her eyes that was likely caused by trauma or an injury. She is a very frightened little bird, and she was very unhappy being in a busy shelter.
We were glad to be able to get this pretty girl out of the shelter when a foster home stepped up. She had a vet visit, and was transferred to her foster home to heal from her infection. She’s had the most excellent care, and Pearl is now ready to find her forever home!
Here’s a note from her foster home:
“Pearl is happy and singing daily. She is still nervous and does not like to be touched, but in the right home with someone who can be patient and gentle with her, we are sure she will come around.”
* To note – our vets are not 100% sure Miss Pearl is a female, because her cere is so dilute. As she gets older, the cere may darken, which would indicate Pearl is a male. It’s a wait-and-see situation, but we wanted to give Pearl the chance to find her forever home sooner than later, so she can feel safe and benefit from the consistency of her forever home and her forever people. We know she’ll be a lovely bird for the right home, no matter if she is a male or female!
