Russet
*After having been returned by their adopters due to allergies, we’re happy to report that Yukon and Russet have been adopted by a wonderful family. Congratulations, guys!
Yukon and Russet were surrendered to Hamilton Animal Services because of allergies in their owner’s family. We were happy to get these cute pigs out of the shelter and into the warmth and safety of a foster home when one became available.
Yukon and Russet were given a clean bill of health at the vet, and we had them both neutered. We’re asking that Yukon and Russet be adopted as a pair. They’re the best of friends!
Yukon and Russet were adopted, but had to be returned to us because of severe allergies in the family that weren’t known before the adoption. So, these two lovely pigs are again available.
These guys LOVE their greens. Their favourites are romaine lettuce, dandelion leaves, and kale. The only greens they’ve turned their noses up at is arugula. They are talkative piggies, and they will be sure to let you know if their daily snack is even a minute later than usual. Yukon and Russet poop quite a lot, so their adopter must be willing to do a sweep up or shake out of their fleece bedding at least once a day.
Yukon is friendlier than Russet, but they can both be handled as long as your movements are slow and gentle.
They’re currently housed in a large enclosure, and they take full advantage of all the space. They love the time they get to spend out of their cage, and they follow each other around as they explore. Yukon and Russet deserve a forever home where they’ll have lots of space and where they’ll get lots of love.
Please adopt Yukon and Russet!

Guinea pigs need much more room than the typical pet store guinea pig cages offer. Here are some websites that have great examples of the type of cages pigs can live happily in, so that they have lots of room to move around and explore:
