Buddy came into Hamilton Animal Services with another rabbit. Technically they were strays, but it’s more likely they were dumped.
Unfortunately, Buddy and the other rabbit (Tyson) got into a squabble that ended with Tyson being injured, so the shelter separated them. When a foster home opened up, we were happy to get Buddy out of the small cage he was in at the shelter, and into a loving foster home where he has much more space.
Buddy is doing well in his foster home, and he’s soaking up all the love, attention and tasty snacks his foster family are giving him.
He’s a very friendly guy!

Here’s a note from Buddy’s foster family:
“Buddy my foster rabbit is adorable!!! He greets us every morning asks for his mini salad by nudging his pen. He loves to play run, jump and perform. He loves getting pet and enjoys his salads consisting of different types of lettuce, fruits and herbs! Loves cilantro! He has learned how to drag his salad bowl to let me know it needs a refill. He is a great rabbit and when he was moulting, he let me comb him. He’s a very happy bunny!”

Rabbits need lots of space…

Our fostered rabbits are housed in x-pens or similar enclosures so they have lots of room to move around when they aren’t out for floor time. Some of our rabbits are free range in their foster home.
Commercially made pet store rabbit cages are far too small to allow rabbits to stretch out and move around with ease. Here are some examples of great enclosures, and rooms set up for free roaming bunnies.
