Willow
* Willow found her forever home with a wonderful family! Yay! *
Willow came into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray, but her owners ended up surrendering her to the shelter shortly after.
When she arrived, poor Willow had a prolapsed rectum, so shelter staff sent her to the vet. When HAS asked us for help, we took over Willow’s care, and we sent Willow to our vet where the prolapse was fixed. She did great for the surgery and the “before and after” is quite amazing! Willow is so much happier now that she’s feeling better. She has loads of energy and she’s like a new dog!
Spay surgery was next, and it went very well. She healed up perfectly, and now Willow is ready to find her forever home!
Willow needs a home with no dogs, cats, or free-roaming small pets, like rabbits. For the safety of the humans and the animals in the adoptive home, we cannot make exceptions to this stipulation.
Here’s a note from Willow’s foster mom:
“Willow came into our lives about a month ago as our foster pet. She had a few health challenges, but this didn’t dampen her wonderful spirit.
She is an energetic and incredibly loving dog that wants nothing more than to sit on your lap and cuddle. Very adept at finding any vacant spot on your chair for her to squeeze into. Right now she is sitting behind me on my office chair, and I am happy to share.
If a dog with an abundance of personality is what you need look no further. She is such a happy and friendly dog. Unfortunately she arrived with very little training so it has been challenging to undo bad habits. BUT we have made a lot of progress. She now responds to her name, uses outside for her necessities 95 percent of the time, is happy to go into her cage at night and settle down. I would say that we are very attentive to
signals to go outside and this is getting better and better.
I think Willow would benefit from a fenced yard as she loves to be outside and watch the wildlife. I also believe she would enjoy a family with children who can provide her with the stimulation she needs. We will certainly miss this bundle of energy in our home and hope she finds her
forever home.”
