Cheeky
Notes: Cheeky came into Hamilton Animal Control as a stray. At the time, he had a large abscess on his head. Not sure how it happened, but he looked awful! Ladybird rescued Cheeky from HAC and took him to the vet. It was discovered that he is FIV positive…but that hasn’t slowed Cheeky down! He’s still as loveable and sweet as any other cat. FIV can cause his immune system some trouble at some point in his life, but for now he is healthy and happy!
Having FIV, being a little older and being a black cat are many strikes against him in the world of being adopted. We’re happy to report that Cheeky’s foster family has decided to adopt him. Congratulations Cheeky!
FIV cats can live well with non-FIV cats. FIV is transferred by deep tissue bites/wounds. As long as the cats in the home get along, the risk of transfer is low to none.
