Avocado
* Margarita and Avocado found their forever home together with wonderful people! Woo hoo! *
Guacamole, Agave, Margarita, and Avocado were rescued from Hamilton Animal Services. They all arrived at the shelter as strays at different times and were not claimed.
We were happy to get all four birds out of the shelter and into a loving foster home. They’ve been put together in a large cage, and they’re very happy to have each other for company. In the wild, budgies live and migrate in large flocks, so a single budgie can get quite lonely.
These lovely birds were given a clean bill of health at the vet, and now they’re ready to find their forever homes!
Here’s a note from their foster mom:
“Agave is the Casanova of the bunch. He sings and tries to get attention from all the others. He is constantly grooming and paying attention to his cage mates. At times I think he loves his reflection more than anything else. Margarita is a shy sweet little lady. She keeps to herself and lets the others lead the way. She quietly plays with her toys and when the others let her, she will snuggle up for the night. Avocado is most definitely the boss of the group. She defends her favourite perch and is not swayed by Agave’s advances. Guacamole is the clown. Often upside down and playing, he is a silly bird. He sings and plays with Agave but has little interest in the girls. He too likes the way he looks in the mirror.”
