* Burger and Cleo have been adopted by their foster family! Yay! *

Burger, Cleo, Ivy and Poppy were brought into Hamilton Animal Services as strays. They were quite sick when they arrived, and had severe diarrhea. The shelter reached out to us for help, and we were able to pick these wee ones up and get them straight to the vet for treatment. Medication and special food were prescribed, and thankfully a foster home stepped up to take in the little litter. Fostering poopy kittens is a lot of work, and we’re so grateful for our foster families who are willing to care for animals who need extra care.
So far, the kittens have been doing well in their foster home, and we hope they will make full recoveries soon.

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 11, 2023

Cleo had to be hospitalized today because she stopped eating and became lethargic overnight. She’s on fluids and medication now, and though she is more stable, she’s not out of the woods yet.

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 12, 2023
Cleo made it through the night! We’re thankful for that, but unfortunately she’s been joined at the vet hospital by her brother Burger, who was showing similar symptoms. Tests showed the kittens have panleukopenia. ☹️ They have a fight ahead of them, but we’ll be with them every step of the way.

Look at this little fighter!
Cleo is feeling much better today, and she has even had some solid poops! That’s something she hadn’t done since coming into our care.
Her brother Burger was feeling better after being medically treated, and has been back in his foster home after a short time at the vet. Now its Cleo’s turn to be reunited with her siblings! We know she’ll be very happy to see them again.

A happy reunion!
After being at the vet for several days fighting off a serious illness, Cleo was reunited with her siblings and she was very happy!
Cleo, Burger, Ivy, and Poppy all continue to improve in health, and they’re growing like weeds.

Cleo has made a remarkable recovery and is doing great! She and her siblings are loving life in their foster home. We hope they will continue to do well and they can be made available for adoption in a few weeks.

The kittens have been doing wonderfully in their foster home over the past few weeks. They have a vet appointment tomorrow, where hopefully they’ll get a clean bill of health and we can get a plan in place to get them fixed. They can start the search for their forever homes when they’re healed from their surgeries.
