Saltine
* Saltine has been adopted by her foster mom! Yippee! *
Saltine was brought to Hamilton Animal Services after being found outside. No owner came forward to claim him, and we were happy to get him out of the shelter and into a foster home when one opened up. Saltine had a health check at the vet on his rescue day, and other than a cataract in one eye, he is a healthy hamster. There’s no treatment needed for the cataract, but his adopters would need to be aware that he is blind in that eye.
Saltine is now settling in at his foster home and his foster mom will let us know about his personality as she gets to know him better. Stay tuned for when he is made available for adoption.
Welcome to Ladybird, Saltine! We’re so happy you’re here!
IS A HAMSTER THE RIGHT PET FOR YOU?
Whether you’re a first time hamster adopter or an experienced hammy person, we strongly recommend viewing Victoria Raechel’s videos for tips on proper hamster care and education.
Hamsters need space…
Hamsters need more living space than the typical “hamster cage” you’ll find at local pet store. Here are some examples of fantastic hamster enclosures that give hamsters room to explore, burrow, and live their best hammy life!
