Alabaster
* Alabaster found his forever home with wonderful people! Yay! *
Alabaster was surrendered to Hamilton Animal Services when his owner no longer wanted him. We were happy to spring this sweet bunny out of the shelter when a foster home opened up. He was neutered on his rescue day and he recovered perfectly from the surgery. Alabaster is now ready to find his forever home!
This rabbit is something special. He’s very, very friendly and calm. A real snuggle bunny!
Here’s a report from his foster family:
“Alabaster is a one of a kind bunny! We are baffled how and why anyone could surrender him. He is the most loving, cuddly, attention seeking sweet little bunny we have ever met! Alabaster’s love language is snorting, hand and toe nibbles, following you around or snuggling right up under your chin! Alabaster would most certainly do best with a family who can have him free roam the house (bunny proofed, of course) with lots of interaction or spend most of his time out of his pen with his family. He is extremely loving and social. He is great with older kids and cats. Small children would not be a great fit for him. Alabaster likes to nibble and chew cardboard and paper and will only make little nibbles on items left out to test the waters. He will nibble plants at his level, so taking care with what’s left out is important! Alabaster absolutely loves scratches under the chin and around his neck. He will fall fast asleep on your chest if you let him! He loves to follow you around and chase your feet. We have not found much that he likes to play with yet, but we keep trying! He absolutely devours mixed greens and fresh herbs, especially cilantro and dill. Alabaster is fully litter trained and when out and about will use a litter box put out for him. The special family who adopts Alabaster is in for a lifetime of love and bunny snuggles!”
* Alabaster has been vaccinated against Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease (RHDV).
Rabbits need lots of space…
Our fostered rabbits are housed in x-pens or similar enclosures so they have lots of room to move around when they aren’t out for floor time. Some of our rabbits are free range in their foster home.
Commercially made pet store rabbit cages are far too small to allow rabbits to stretch out and move around with ease. Here are some examples of great enclosures, and rooms set up for free roaming bunnies.
