* Barton has been adopted by his foster family! Woo hoo!*

Barton and Birch were part of a group of guinea pigs who were abandoned outdoors in St. Catharines. Thankfully they were gathered up and brought to safety at the Humane Society of Greater Niagara. The shelter was already packed with guinea pigs prior to taking in this group, so they reached out to us for help. We were happy to take in Barton and Birch when a foster home came available. Barton and Birch were given a clean bill of health at the vet, and they were adopted a few months later.
Unfortunately, Birch came down with a serious illness in his adoptive home. Though their adopter and their vet tried everything they could, Birch sadly passed away. Barton was returned to us shortly afterwards.
Barton had a health check to be sure he wasn’t ill as well, and thankfully, he’s healthy. We had Barton neutered to make it easier for him to find a forever home. Once he’s healed from his surgery, he’ll be available for adoption once again. We hope he can find a new piggy friend in his forever home, as we’re sure he’s probably missing his brother Birch.
