Bruschetta
Bruschetta ended up at Hamilton Animal Services as a stray. As well as being too young to be away from his mom, Bruschetta arrived to the shelter with a damaged and infected eye. It’s not known how this happened to him, but the eye looked awful. Shelter staff reached out to us for help, and we picked up Bruschetta from the shelter and took him straight to the vet. He’ll get the treatment he needs and will then make his way to a foster home when he’s able to be released from the vet. Bruschetta has a long road ahead of him, but we’ll be there for him every step of the way.
Welcome to Ladybird, Bruschetta! We love you already!
* UPDATE July 18/24 *
Bruschetta has been introduced to another rescued kitten with the same eye issue. His name is Baguette. Baguette wasn’t too sure of his new foster brother at first, but Bruschetta won him over and they’re now great friends.
It’s likely that both cats will have to have their respective damaged eyes removed when they’re a little older, but it’s still a wait and see.
For now, Baguette and Bruschetta are receiving the vet care they need, and they’re being loved and spoiled by their amazing foster mom. We couldn’t ask for a better place for them to be.
Go, Bruschetta and Baguette!
* UPDATE September 27/24 *
Bruschetta and Baguette had a vet visit today for vaccines and a recheck of each of their damaged eyes. We are happy to report that neither of them needs to have the eye removed! They may not have full vision in those eyes, but removal is not necessary. Bruschetta & Baguette will be neutered next month, and when they’re healed from surgery they’ll be available for adoption.
Way to go, Baguette and Bruschetta!
* UPDATE November 5/24 *
Bruschetta and Baguette were both neutered yesterday, and they did great! They’re now back in their foster home to recover. If all goes well, they’ll be available for adoption once they’re healed.
Way to go, Bruschetta and Baguette!
