Amico
* Amico found his forever home with lovely people and another cat to be friends with! Yippee! *
Amico came into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray. He was quite a mess when he arrived. He was extremely thin, covered in fleas, had the runs, and had feces stuck to him. Despite how he must have been feeling, this scraggly little kitten was as friendly as can be! Such a sweetheart.
The shelter put Amico on medication, and he did very well during his time with them. When a foster home opened up, we were happy to get Amico out of the shelter and into a warm, loving foster home.
Amico will see the vet, and hopefully will continue to thrive. Amico will eventually be made available for adoption, but we’ll need to monitor him for the next while to be sure he stays healthy.
Welcome to Ladybird, Amico! We’re so happy you’re here!
* November 26/24 UPDATE *
After a couple of setbacks with his health, Amico is finally doing well enough that he can be vaccinated! He has an appointment for that later this week.
Can you believe this is the same cat? He looks so different from the scraggly, sickly kitten we first met. That’s what love can do!
Way to go, Amico!
* December 23/24 UPDATE *
Amico is ready to find his forever home! Here’s a note from his foster mom:
“Amico is a 4 month old grey and peach tabby with a ridiculous purrsonality! Amico means friend or friendly in Italian…and that he is! What a sweet little thing that is just as happy purring away on your lap, rubbing up against your face or playing with whatever happens to catch his eye!
He has been enjoying time with his foster family (2 adults and 4 kitties). He loves to play with the tails of the other kitties…and why not…they move! He is very comfortable with all the other kitties (they are all very friendly and have had many fosters come and go over the years).
At this time he is not a very vocal kitty (except when it is chow time!). He has a squeekly little voice to get your attention. He loves to lay on my lap when I am reading at night and is very happy to snuggle in for a good sleep. That sleep may be short lived if your toes happen to move under the covers😂
I believe he would do well with other cats (as long as they have a similar purrsonality) and may even do well with a gentle dog ( please know that he has not been exposed to a dog). If you have any questions about this adorable little fuzz nugget please reach out and ask!”
