Mama M and her baby Moo were two of a group of guinea pigs surrendered to a Niagara area shelter by their owner because they had too many animals. Moo was approximately 8 weeks old when they arrived, and poor Mama M was already pregnant again. We’re glad we could get these two out of the shelter and into a quiet foster home where Mama M could have her babies in peace.
Moo has to be the cutest baby guinea pig we’ve ever seen. Super adorable! Mama M had her babies on February 18th, and now Moo can start the search for her forever home!
Moo is a shy pig, but isn’t too bad about being handled. She loves her Oxbow treats and all the veggies she’s been offered so far. She can often be seen zooming around her enclosure, and then diving into the hay pile to have a snack. Her adopters should be prepared to keep up with maintaining her fur, as it will get matted and tangled if not properly looked after.
We are asking that Moo be adopted to a home where there is another female guinea pig, or a neutered male for her to be friends with.
