Abner, Irving and Smithers are three of a group of guinea pigs surrendered to a Niagara area shelter by their owner because they had too many animals. The shelter separated the boys from the girls, and then they separated Smithers from the other boys because he was getting picked on. Poor guy is by himself now, but in an enclosure right next to the other two so he’s not completely isolated. We plan to have Smithers neutered so he can find a forever home with a solo female.
These sweet piggies are very happy to be out of the noisy shelter and safe and warm in their foster home. Their foster mom will get to know them over the next few weeks so we will know what the right home will be for them when they’re ready.
