Bruno

Bruno
STATUS: Adoptable AGE AT ARRIVAL: Approximately 2-3 years old ARRIVAL DATE: February 3rd, 2025 SPECIES: Cat BREED: Domestic Medium Hair GENDER: Neutered Male ADOPTION FEE: $200 (what is included?) NOTES:

Bruno was brought to Hamilton Animal Services as a stray. He was at the shelter for more than a month, but no owner came forward to claim him. He was initially very shy, but he warmed up to shelter staff with time.
We were happy to get this handsome boy out of the shelter when a foster home opened up. He was neutered shortly after his rescue, and he did great. Bruno is FIV positive, but he isn’t exhibiting any signs of the virus, and his bloodwork was perfect otherwise.
Bruno is now healed from his neuter, and he’s ready to find his forever home!

Here’s a note from Bruno’s foster family:
This sweet boy is 2-3 years old and an absolute fiend for head scritches!
Bruno arrived at Animal Control with scratches and scabs, so it’s no surprise that he is also FIV+. He was also very smelly (once again, no surprise for a long haired intact male who spent time on the street and then a month in the shelter). He was not very matted, which hopefully indicated that he wasn’t outside for very long, but had a rough time for the time he was outside.
After his surgery and a good brushing, he is smelling much better and feeling much better!
It took him a little while to warm up and be comfortable (also with the betrayal of being put back in the carrier and then being neutered). Now, though, he is a cuddle bug!
He has only been in his foster home for a couple weeks, so is still settling in, but he is starting to play – he LOVES jumping for toys.
He can be a bit nippy when he wants to be fed, so it would be best for him to be in a house with no young kids. His foster home is trying to train this away, but it might take awhile.
He is also on high fiber food, as his poops were a bit soft – this is something that can be rechecked, as he was just out of the shelter, so the stress of the move, plus the surgery, plus the meds might have contributed to that. Plus, his FIV+ diagnosis means he is more susceptible to changes in his environment.
Bruno is the sweetest boy and so soft! He LOVES head scritches and will nudge your hand until you pet him. He has also taken to laying his paw lightly on his foster parent’s face as a gentle reminder he is there and needs a pet. So cute, but very startling at 4am!
Bruno would do best in a quiet home with no young children (until the nipping gets resolved) and his new family needs to be mindful of his FIV+ status, which should be fine as long as he gets good food and isn’t stressed.
He loves being on someone’s lap and would gladly sleep the day away as a little hot water bottle, if given the chance. He also has the most delicate little meows (which is adorable, due to his size).

Please adopt Bruno!
