Shirley and Temple came to Hamilton Animal Services as strays. We were happy to help these sweet girls when a loving foster home opened up. On meeting these girls and taking them to their vet visit, we were surprised to see how sweet, friendly and socialized they are. Shirley is the more timid one of the two. Temple is quite curious and not at all camera shy. They both seem to enjoy a gentle pet and will happily take treats right from your hand.

We’re still getting to know these very adorable, moon-sized eye guinea pigs and will give them a bit of time before making them available for adoption, just to be sure they’re not pregnant. We’re confident that these beuaties will make amazing pets for a lucky family when they’re ready to be adopted.

Guinea pigs need much more room than the typical pet store guinea pig cages offer. Here are some examples of appropriate cages pigs can live happily in, so that they have lots of room to move around and explore:

Can’t adopt but want to help? Monetary donations are always needed, but donations of Oxbow Guinea Pig food, Oxbow “Natural Science” Vitamin C tablets, timothy hay, small animal chew toys, and fleece liners are very much appreciated!
