Rupert
Ladybird rescued Rupert from Hamilton Animal Control where he found himself as a stray. Rupert was spared his life because he has such a wonderful personality, despite his advanced age. Rupert loves everybody! He is a very laid back and sweet old boy and nothing seems to bother him. After Ladybird rescued him from HAC, he had some much needed dental work done and did really well during the surgery. Rupert’s foster mom knew pretty quickly that she could not live without him in her life, so Rupert’s foster home became his forever home. Yay Rupert!

We received the sad news from Rupert’s forever home that he has passed away. We are so thankful he was loved and cared for by such wonderful people for the last years of his life. Rest in peace sweet Rupert. You were a special, special kitty…
“The sun shone a little less brightly on Tuesday as we said goodbye to our best buddy Rupert. We are devastated and our hearts are broken.
Rupert was the sweetest, gentlest, most loving cat we have ever known, and he charmed everyone he met, including our other cat Thumbelina. He and Thumbelina quickly became two peas in a pod, and would spend hours snuggling by the fire, holding paws, sunbathing in a window, and grooming each other. Rup was a laid-back guy who didn’t ask for much, other than love, snuggles, smooches, belly rubs…and of course, nuggets. Our love for him surpassed anything we thought was possible, and we already miss him terribly. Although we wish we had more time with him, we appreciated and enjoyed the time we did have, and we are forever grateful to Ladybird Animal Sanctuary for bringing him into our lives. From the moment he ambled out of that (very large) carrier and looked into my eyes, I knew he wasn’t just another foster cat and I knew that he wasn’t going anywhere.….he was home.
Our world is darker today without you, Rupster. We miss your morning greetings, your nose kisses and grooming sessions, your one-of-a-kind purrs, your loud snores, and your sweet face. Thumby misses her best friend and snuggle buddy. Our home just isn’t the same without you.
RIP sweet Rupert. Wherever you are, we hope there is an endless supply of nuggets and a warm bed in the sunshine. xox”
