Mikey was rescued from Hamilton Animal Control where he found himself as a stray. He spent a couple of months in foster care waiting to be healthy enough to be made available for adoption…but Mikey could never shake his mystery illness. After his health took a bad turn for the worse, Mikey’s foster mom rushed him to the vet. After many tests, it was discovered he was FIP and Feline Leukemia positive. Poor guy had been trying to fight off something he would never recover from. His health deteriorated while he was at the vet and after much discussion, our vets advised it would be best to euthanize Mikey to end his suffering. Our hearts go out to Mikey’s foster mom. She was very attached to this sweet guy.

We try our best with every animal we rescue, and we do everything we can to help them along their journey to a forever home…but sometimes the universe has a different plan for these little souls, and we have to let go.
