Strawberry
The Ladybird Animal Sanctuary rescued Strawberry from Hamilton Animal Control where she found herself as a stray. Strawberry is polydactyl (extra toes) on all four paws. So cute!
Here’s a note from Strawberry’s foster home:
“Strawberry Social
And she is just that; a darling, wee lass. Imagine coming home from a long, hard day at the office, from school, or just life in general. You feel a little kicked around by the outside world and all you want to do is retreat home to your calm, safe, tranquil sanctuary and forget about what’s outside your doors for a while.
You open the door and there is your friend, your pal, your little Strawberry who is so very happy to see you that she is waiting at the door for your arrival. As you step inside, she greets you with a leg rub and head butt. And as you reach down to give her a pat, she instinctively flops on her side out of sheer happiness to see you. She has missed you. She doesn’t care about how you drive, what you are wearing, if you are tall, thin, short, stalky, have big ears or a big nose, are good at your job, or got a bollocking from your boss today, she only cares about you, the kind, caring, warm hearted person that has given her a second chance at life and she is so grateful.
You sit down on the floor with her and she begins to purr, quietly at first but then it gets louder and louder like a roar. She is so happy that it is hard to her to sit still and she gets up and rubs herself against you again and then flops over and repeats this over and over. It’s like she is doing somersaults on her side on the floor. She is just so darn happy and in turn you feel the stress of the day start to melt away. She doesn’t care how much money you make (as long as you feed her well and include some wet food and special treats like tuna or ham :o), what kind of car you drive, or if you are a fashionista, in her eyes you are perfect just the way you are, a king or queen, worthy of every ounce of unconditional love she can muster….and muster she does.
Often it is in the early am hours when you are fast asleep but it is hard to resist a kitty cuddle and some head bonks from her. Then she quite happily will snuggle in beside you and fall peacefully asleep. She can be vocal at times but she isn’t the kind of cat to wake you up with the feed me, feed me, howls. She is very content to laze around until you are ready to get up and give her some grub. You can pick her up and cuddle her no problem but mostly she likes to jump up beside you and curl up. Unless of course it’s sleepy time and in bed, she likes to lay either on your chect/stomach or on your oblique’s if you are lying on your side :o)
With her sweet strawberry pink nose and pretty, pretty eyes that look lined by black eyeliner. She has large black pupils rimmed with a golden, green ring that is highlighted by the black around her lids. Mostly all white with wisps of grey tabby markings, she has the cutest circle markings on her backside. Her right hindquarter has one circle and the left has 3, aligned in such a way that if you connected them, you’d get a triangle. She is a real cutie.
She is very pristine and while not a total diva, she does get along well with the resident male cats in her foster home but not so much the other female. Even though it is not her territory, she is the younger lady and must think it is time for the older one to back off so she gets hissy and swatty with the resident princess. So, with this in mind, she would do well with male cats but really does need to be the only darling, sweetheart, princess in your life. She gets on well with the 12 year old boy in her foster home and has a calm enough temperament that could handle smaller children.
Strawberry has waited an awfully long time for you so please don’t wait a moment longer to meet her and make her part of your family.”
Strawberry found her forever home with a lovely person!!
