Lancelot
We rescued Lancelot from Hamilton Animal Control where he found himself as a stray. While at HAC, Lancelot was always urine stained on his underside, even after a bath, and he didn’t seem to be grooming himself. After his rescue and a vet visit, it was discovered Lancelot had a broken tooth that was making grooming painful. While Lancelot was under for his neuter, the vet removed the broken took. Lancelot is now pain-free, white and clean and grooming himself again!
Lancelot does have a slightly misaligned jaw, so he should have his teeth checked frequently by a veterinarian who specializes in small animals. Our vets tell us that the condition is very mild in his case.
Lancelot is probably the happiest rabbit we’ve rescued. He’s constantly hopping, playing with his toys and looking for some affection from his foster family. He gets along with the small dogs and cats in his foster home. Lancelot is always moving! He hops and hops and hops all the time! He loves spending time out of his x-pen, exploring his foster home. Lancelot isn’t much of a chewer of things because he is always moving! He’s got so many places to explore and things to do, he doesn’t have time to stop and chew!
Daily treats of romaine lettuce, carrots, apple and other fruit and veggies are always welcomed. He loves to spend time outside on the grass in his x-pen too.
We ask that our rabbits not be housed in the types of rabbit cages they sell in pet stores. Our fostered rabbits are housed in x-pens or similar enclosures so they have lots of room to move around when they aren’t out for floor time. Commercially made pet store rabbit cages are far too small to allow rabbits to stretch out and move around with ease.
Here are some great websites outlining alternative rabbit housing using x pens and similar enclosures.

An update from Lancelot’s adopter. His new name is Rocco!
“I just wanted to say how grateful we are to have Rocco in our lives. We had a great first few days with him and just wanted to give you an update. Rocco is one amazing boy! He loves his new house and seems to also love his family. He gave us kisses and cuddles all weekend. He was hopping around and even showed off with a few binkies. He gets lots of hay, pellets and water and every evening, gets a big handful or organic greens. He also gets an apple slice or another treat during the day. He has really enjoyed his toys and is even likes being brushed. It is clear he loves his hamburger toy but also seems to love his toilet paper toy and his bell ball. It is so funny to watch him throw all his things around in such a playful way.
He and our cat Jack are getting along. Rocco wants to be best friends with Jack but Jack is only ready to be near Rocco, not to groom or cuddle like Rocco seems to be yearning for. It will take some time for our blind boy to not be scared of Rocs since our last foster bunny bit and chased him. Scott and I are so in love with our little fur ball. Thank you for allowing us to be his forever family.
All the best,
Natalie”
