Blizzard

STATUS: Adopted AGE AT ARRIVAL: Approximately 4 years ARRIVAL DATE: November 30th, 2014 ADOPTION DATE: January 11th, 2015 SPECIES: Guinea Pig BREED: Wire Haired GENDER: Male

We rescued Blizzard from a high-kill shelter in Quebec. He’s a friendly pig, but like most guinea pigs, he isn’t a fan of being picked up. He will chill for some ear scratches though!

Here’s a note from Blizzard’s foster home:

“Blizzard is really social. We have the cage in our main area and when he hears us talking amongst ourselves he often comes out and will start squealing at us- he puts his hands right up on the bars to look at us. He also does that noise when he hears us rattling around in the fridge or dishes clanging- when he would like some more veggies.

If we come over to the cage and talk he comes right out and looks at us and gets up on the bars towards us.

He is really a great guy. The dog doesn’t bother him at all, and in fact, sometimes the dog and Blizzard actually both come up to the bars on the cage and sniff each other. It is really cute.“

We recommend a C & C cage or similar set up for guinea pigs. Piggies need lots of room to move around and most pet store sold cages don’t offer enough space.

Blizzard found his forever home with a wonderful family!
