Manny
We rescued Manny from Hamilton Animal Control where he ended up after he was brought in by his owners by no fault of his own.
Here’s a note from his foster home:
“So, when I first met Manny, I thought, “Wow, that’s a lot of cat!” In fact, it was exactly 19.48lbs of cat and the size of a 20lb bag of potatoes. Today Manny is 18.89lbs and well, still looks as big as a 20lb bag of potatoes. Manny, had mats on his back. You couldn’t touch his shoulders, back or rump with out him protesting because the muscles were all knotted up from carrying his weight. He was a little stressed and quite miserable. Today, Manny is one very happy and placid cat that loves life. This guy was just a diamond in the rough! Manny always greets you at the door. He likes to be picked up and carried around the house. You can cradle him like a baby in your arms or carry him like a football by your side. You know Manny is wandering the house at night because no matter how silent his footsteps are, the floor squeaks under this weight. It makes me chuckle as I lay awake in bed. And sometimes when I wake up, Manny is sleeping on the bed with me but he is always is a foot or two away from my head or feet. He likes to give you space and that’s nice, I like that but he also doesn’t object if you pull him closer to you and give him pets; in fact he like it. When he falls asleep on the kitchen floor, sometimes he lays flat on his back and you can’t help but bend down and rub his tummy. This makes him wag his tail back and forth like he’s trying to make a snow angle. It’s cute. Sometimes Manny sleeps on his stomach and stretches his legs straight out in front and behind him. Once he was dreaming and started to wiggle in that position. It was so funny because it looked like he was dreaming that he was superman and he was flying through the air. Manny has the cutest nose and loves to be petted, rubbed and rolled around on the ground. He uses his litter box and has no bad habits.
So, if Manny sounds like a good fit for your home, don’t wait to contact Ladybird cause this guy truly is cool and now that his bio is out, he will have a forever home very soon. This guy is awesome!”
Update: March 5th, 2015
A note from Manny’s foster family:
“So, Manny has been doing just fine! He has been steadily losing weight and as a result has become more and more active and now runs in little 10 foot spurts when we play. You can see he has become proud again and seems very happy to be flexible instead of that fat cat he used to be although he is still overweight. He constantly cleans himself and likes to do these semi-model poses on the couch. Manny’s bringing sexy back, ’cause those other kitty’s don’t know how to act. Not a mean bone in this boy’s body.”
