Fancy
We rescued Fancy from Hamilton Animal Control where she found herself as a stray. Fancy has some issues with her back legs (she walks a bit like a penguin), so we took her straight from HAC to the vet for tests and xrays. Turns our Fancy has a combination of severe hip dysplasia and luxating patellas. Because she is mobile (as you can see in the video) and doesn’t seem to be in any pain, surgery was not recommended. It’s likely surgery wouldn’t be beneficial because as she has grown, she has compensated for her condition. Fancy may develop arthritis later in life, but for now, she’s happy and purry and ready to find her forever home.
Here’s a note from Fancy’s foster home:
“Fancy is a sweet little thing that does not seem bothered by cats or dogs. Fancy loves to be petted but she prefers to have her feet on the ground for it and although she definitely is improving she still requires patience when approaching. Her adopter should keep her confined to a room or small apartment until she gets comfortable. Her disability really isn’t much of one except when it comes to climbing. She uses the litter box beautifully and loves to chase the laser.“
Fancy found her forever home with lovely people!
