Daisy
We rescued Daisy from Burlington Animal Control. Under all that horribly matted fur is a sweet Shih Tzu mix who was signed over to B.A.C by her owners. She has a mammary tumour and some other lumps and bumps that need checking out…and she needs to be spayed. But first, that terrible matting needs to be taken care of with a shave down. Daisy is at the vet now, so we’ll send updates as they come in. Daisy will be available for adoption when she’s feeling better. Welcome to the Ladybird family Daisy!

Daisy had her surgery yesterday…she was spayed, the mammary tumour was removed and she had one dental extraction. While she was under anesthetic, Daisy was completely shaved and now looks like a totally different dog!
She’s recovering well from her surgery and will be transferred to her foster home today.

Daisy healed wonderfully from her surgery and has been given the “all clear” from our vet, so she is ready for her forever home!
Here’s a note from Daisy’s foster home:
“Daisy is the perfect little dog. It was our first time fostering and our experience could not have been more fulfilling. Anybody would be so lucky to have Daisy as their dog for so many reasons. Her temperament is great because she is the perfect combination of playful, chillin, quirky and loyal. She is the absolute most loving animal we have ever been around. She loves to snuggle most of all. Daisy is also comfortable around other animals and she really enjoys going for walks. It’s going to be really hard saying good bye to Daisy and because she is so easy to love. We hope she finds a home where she is loved and taken care of because she is such a sweet girl who deserves a loving forever home. “

Sad news. Daisy has passed away. We received this email from her forever home. Rest in peace sweet Daisy!
“Yesterday was a very sad day for us. We had to say goodbye to our doll Daisy. She had been diagnosed with congestive heart failure among other health issues and was not living a nice quality of life anymore. It was the hardest decision to say goodbye but we couldn’t watch her suffer anymore. We would like to thank you so much for bringing that little angel into our lives. She meant so much us and we are gonna miss her tremendously. I’ve never bonded with an animal so much. Even though we only had her for just over a year and a half if felt like she was always with us. Thank you truly for what you do and for bringing Daisy to us. She was a blessing to us and she will always have a special place in our heart. Xoxoxo”
