Marty
We rescued Marty (Feldman) from Hamilton Animal Control where he found himself as a stray. Marty is the sweetest and happiest kitty! Total floppy lap cat who just wants to be loved and loved some more. But, poor Marty had some serious issues with his teeth and mouth that must have been plaguing him for a long time. He was in terrible pain when he ate… even eating very soft canned food threw him into writhing pain. After seeing him go through that just once, we knew we couldn’t leave Marty at the shelter. We rescued him and took him straight to the vet where a quick exam showed that he needed serious dental extractions. Surgery went well, but it left him with just a few teeth. He seems very happy with his new mouth and is even friendlier than he was when we first rescued him! Marty must be so relived to not be in pain all the time.
Here’s a note from Marty’s foster home:
“I had a get together and there were over 20 people here and Marty was a hit. He took his own spot on the couch and let everyone love on him. There were a few kids here, 1.5 years to 4 years old, and he was great with them. The senior ladies loved him and I think if he found a senior to be his forever family it would the perfect match although he is great with anyone.
There seems to be no problems after his dental surgery. He is gobbling up his wet food without issue. He is super comfortable around the house. He sleeps with Finn (dog) and I every night and if he is not in my lap he is never far away when I am home. He and Nico (cat) are getting along. When I am there they seem to hiss a bit at each other and swat but never with nails out. It is so funny because I can hear them chasing each other and playing when I am not in the room. He has not once been phased by Finn at all. I think he will do well in a home with cats and/or dogs Actually, I think a home with a friend to keep him company would be best for him since he is so friendly and snuggly. If he can’t go to a home with a friend, then a home where there will be someone home the majority of the time would be best. I think he would be sad being left for long periods of time all by himself.”
