* Hubert found his forever home with an awesome person! *

Ladybird rescued Hubert the hedgehog from a high-kill shelter in Laval, Quebec. He’s probably the friendliest hedgehog we’ve ever met! He will ball up when frightened, but for the most part he’s out and about, exploring or cuddling up with whoever is handling him.

Here’s a report from Hubert’s foster family…

“Hubert is starting to come out of his shell (or ball so to speak!). He really enjoys his food and makes adorable crunching noises while eating. He spends lots of time on his running wheel and that is a must for him each night. It will also be important for his wheel to be cleaned several times a week as he’s very serious about his running and can’t stop for potty breaks. He will hiss when unsure but has never made any move to bite. After a week in foster care he is becoming more comfortable being handled and is interested in exploring. Hedgehogs have poor eyesight so sound and smell are important ways to introduce yourself to a hedgie. He loves to snuggle in fleece blankets during the day and wakes up around 10pm to forage, explore and run. He is a fascinating and cute little critter to take care of.”
