Tupelo Honey
Ladybird rescued Gloria and her babies from Hamilton Animal Control where they found themselves as strays. The babies were about two weeks old when we rescued the family.
Since shortly after her rescue, Gloria had been suffering with an upper respiratory virus that she contracted during her time at Hamilton Animal Control. She received treatment at the vet, and was starting to feel a bit better. Unfortunately, her kittens also caught the virus. At such a young age, this virus is hard to fight. It takes over the kitten’s whole body, rendering them unable to eat, and as it gets worse they have trouble breathing. One of the kittens, Morrison, was not doing well so their foster mom took the whole family to the vet. Despite the vet’s best efforts, sadly, we lost little Morrison. Gloria and the remaining kittens stayed at the vet for a short time after to be sure we didn’t lose anyone else. With help from our vets and their foster mom, everyone pulled through wonderfully, and Gloria and her babies are now healthy and happy.
