Phoebe
We rescued Phoebe from Hamilton Animal Control where she found herself as a stray. She clearly belonged to someone at some point, as she came into HAC spayed and declawed. But even after being at HAC for almost two months, nobody came looking for her. When she arrived at HAC, Phoebe’s back end was very matted and had to be shaved. The matting was likely happening because she is overweight and isn’t able to turn enough to groom herself in that area. She had bad dandruff as well. It’s obvious that Phoebe didn’t have the best care wherever she was before ending up at HAC. Despite her situation, Phoebe is very friendly and loves everyone she meets!
Here’s a note from Phoebe’s foster family:
“Phoebe is truly a special girl. I even considered adopting her myself but decided that she is way too adoptable to keep and take away a spot for another foster.
Since day one Phoebe has made herself right at home. She has been very loving with me since she arrived. When the time was right, she was introduced to both my dog and cat with no issues. She even confused Nico (cat) because when he tried his tough guy hissing act on her she was not phased at all and completely ignored him.
Phoebe came to me with horrible dandruff. It was so bad and her skin was so itchy she was very uncomfortable. With skin spray, a lot of brushing, good quality wet food and fish oil everyday it is getting better. She still has dandruff but it is under control already and it has not even been two weeks.
One of the cutest things about Phoebe is her love for belly rubs. She isn’t your normal cat who will ask for a belly rub and then bite/claw you in the middle of it…she will let you rub/scratch her belly for as long as you want and even lifts her leg like a dog. It is so funny.
I hope that her forever family will work with Phoebe to lose a bit of weight. Phoebe is obese and although it is very cute, it isn’t very healthy. A smaller tummy will not only be beneficial for Phoebe, it will mean you can scratch her for longer without your arm getting tired!
If you are looking for a super chill lady then Phoebe is the one for you. This senior lady has a lot of love to give and will bring so much happiness to her forever family.”
And after a short time in her foster home, Phoebe’s foster mom decided that she should stay forever. Yay Phoebe!
