Pipa
Pipa and Kate came into Hamilton Animal Control as strays back in October. They’re very shy girls so they needed a foster home that specializes in handling and rehabilitating semi-feral cats. Just that type of foster home finally opened up at Ladybird, and we were happy to rescue these two lovely girls. Pipa and Kate can be picked up and patted, but they’re fearful. Our wonderful foster mom is doing her best to help them come around. We’re excited to help these two learn that nobody is going to cause them harm, and we’re happy to help them along on their journey to a new life free of fear.
Here’s a note from Pipa and Kate’s foster mom:
“Kate and Pippa are very sweet kittens who’ve had a rough start in life. Despite whatever misfortune befell them, neither of the girls has an aggressive bone in their body. They have never hissed, swatted or growled despite my frequent handling of them. They have even started to play while I am present.
The girls are quick learners and have relaxed significantly during their first few weeks here. I am confident they will continue to bloom in a home with love and patience.
Both girls can be held and petted (it’s a bit like having a bunny, I suspect…and just as soft) but would not seek out attention at this time. Basically they are beautiful, passive and afraid. This afternoon while I was cuddling Pippa, Kate saw a squirrel in the tree outside their window and actually turned her back on me to get a better look. Until that time they would never take their eyes off me. We hear them playing at night and I can’t keep from smiling at the sound of them racing around in there. I know they have a ways to go yet but it’s clear they are much, much happier and more relaxed.
They really need a hero to teach them that there are good, kind people in the world.”
Pipa and Kate found their forever home with a lovely person!
