Max
We rescued Max from Hamilton Animal Control where his owners had surrendered him. Max is just the sweetest, most energetic little guy. Max is doing great in his foster home, though he is a bit protective of his foster mom when it comes to strangers, but foster mom is diligent in working on that behaviour.
He had a bath and grooming at Empire Dogs Dog Daycare and Grooming Salon, and he was a very good boy for the staff there. Big thanks to Empire Dogs for helping Max look and feel his best!
Our vet gave Max a much needed dental cleaning and two rotten teeth were extracted. His mouth is feeling much better now! Max has been diagnosed with the beginning stages of collapsed trachea. It’s not a severe case, but he does have a bit of a cough on occasion. It doesn’t slow him down at all though! He’s a spry and energetic little guy, even though he would be considered a senior dog. Because of his protective tendencies, Max would do best in a home with no small children. His foster mom thinks that he would do well if he was the only pet in the home, or if there was one other pet. He likes to be the centre of attention, you see!
Here’s a note from Max’s foster mom:
“Max our little man!
Everyone loves Max. EVERYONE! Max gets along with with cats, dogs, rats, people – you name it. He is always up for an adventure. It’s never too early or too late to go for a car ride when Max is around. He is fiercely protective of the person he deems as “his”, and will let all around him know it. He is wonderful with dogs (as long as they respect his personal space), and does great with cats (as long as they are not afraid of him or other dogs). Everyone thinks Max is a puppy. The only thing that gives his age away are his adorable grey whiskers and specs of grey in his coat. He is a joy to have around, and has the best sense of humour! Max has great recall and his motto is : “it’s always time to have a dance party”. His foster family is truly one of the luckiest one around, and our so grateful to be sharing their space with this ball of fur!”
Max found his forever home with awesome people!
Max had a photoshoot with our friend Trevor from Phurtography!
