Sage
We rescued Sage from Hamilton Animal Control. Sage’s owners surrendered her to HAC because she was having litter box issues. Unfortunately, Sage’s previous owners did not take her to the vet to try to diagnose the problem. Sage has been at HAC since early February. Because she has such a lovely personality, HAC staff wanted to work with Sage to see if she would use the litter box appropriately. They did a urinalyses that showed some bacteria, but nothing too out of the ordinary. After offering Sage two large litter boxes and a special urinary food, she used her litter boxes like a champ! No issues at all after her first week at the shelter!
We had a foster home come forward who was willing to foster Sage, and we were very happy to finally rescue her!
Sage had a vet visit where she had some tests done. She had a couple of teeth extracted and a good dental cleaning, and she was given a clean bill of health from our vets!
She’s done perfectly in her foster home and has had no issues with the litter box at all.
Here’s a note from Sage:
“Hello my name is Sage! I love love love attention. Pats are my favourite and cheek rubs and even belly rubs! I’ve been told my purr is super cute, almost like a trill. I just had two teeth removed, and my mouth looks and feels much better now. I’m not a big eater but I do enjoy my canned food. Long car rides in a carrier are a bit scary but if you reassure me I’ll be okay. At the moment I find it a bit difficult to clean myself all over, which means I sometimes scoot my bum across the floor (but very rarely!). Losing a bit of weight might help with this. I was surrendered for litter box issues, but I haven’t had a single pee accident since being in my foster home! I’m just fine with well behaved dogs in my foster home, (ones that don’t approach me). I find the other cats in my foster home a little scary so I hiss at them, but I eventually learned they weren’t out to get me and we can now be in the same room together without issue. I’ll probably be the boss cat if I find a home with another cat! I have really pretty eyes and as you can see, I’m quite photogenic! I sometimes like to play but mostly snuggling. I really want to find a forever home where my people will love to snuggle and pay attention to me. I love hanging out in bed and wherever you are!”
Sage found her forever home with lovely people!
