Yuki
We rescued pregnant Yuki (pronounced Yew-key) from Hamilton Animal Control. After being in her foster home for about a month, she went into what seemed to be labour, but her foster mom knew there was something wrong when there were no kittens, but a lot of blood. She rushed Yuki to the vet where an emergency C-section and spay were performed. Yuki had three babies, one of which had already passed away inside the womb. After some time at the vet, Yuki was transferred back to her foster home. Less than a week later, one of the kittens, Yoko, unfortunately passed away. Little Yoshi stayed healthy though, and he’s growing like a weed. Yuki is an excellent mama, but after everything she went through, we’re glad that this will be her last litter.
Yuki had some dental work done, and she’s now ready to find her forever home! Yuki would do best as the only cat in the home.
Here’s a report from Yuki’s foster mom:
“I don’t mean this in a terrible way but our gal Yuki, is a bit of a goofy looking feline. Not only is she a black cat, which makes finding her forever home more difficult, she looks part Siamese so her features are rather angular which make her look a bit cross but nothing could be further from the truth.
As a matter of fact, it has always been hard to get a nice photo of her because she is an extreme snuggler. Just recently a friend came to visit (a stranger who Yuki had never met) and within mere moments of this friend sitting on the floor thinking she would have to coax Yuki for a pet, Yuki, did one better. She immediately sauntered over to the friend, positioned herself at just the right angle, then leaned in with her full 11.4 lbs and had every part of her body touching the friends. At this point, instead of hopping into a lap, Yuki uses her whole body to squirm and inch herself up the friends lap, stomach, and chest until her chin is resting just under the friends chin. She then lifts her legs off the floor and sticks them out in the air letting the friend know she expects to now be held under her bottom and ultimately cradled in the persons arms as she leans in against her chest and looks up to give a little face rub. She is so much more than a lap cat, that the foster family’s teenage son has had to move out of his room and sleep on the living room couch because Yuki insists on full body snuggles which keep the son awake.
She likes to follow her humans to the bathroom, to the kitchen, to the bedroom, cause she doesn’t want to miss a possible pet or snuggle. Hopefully her human(s) like a feline that talks cause Yuki, once again does more than just chat, she bellows. She has no qualms yipping and yapping for what she wants, which is normally food and love, love and food. And when it comes to food, this girl is a complete and total mooch, more canine than feline. One night, her foster mom had some bbq chips in a bowl beside the couch and out of the corner of her eye spied Ms. Yuki jump up, happily help herself and walk off with a very large bbq potato chip in her mouth. Of course, the foster mom thought “no way is she going to eat that’ but as she gobbled it down and came back for seconds, she realized she had a mooch monster on her hands. So, you better like a crazy cat that begs cause that’s Yuki. Chicken, ham, chips, cheddar, sandwiches, pizza, and even recently a chick pea salad and be prepared that she can be very vocal when you don’t give her a taste, she has no hesitation to meow her face off to let you know that she does not approve of being left out of the snacking that is going on. If you happen to get up to get more and haven’t given her a taste, she just might swat your ankle and give you a little nibble, just in case her vocalizing fell on deaf ears.
Although Yuki does tolerate the other resident cats, she would be quite thrilled to be the only feline friend in the abode, as a typical female, she would rather be the only queen of the castle. She’s had a tough time of it but it hasn’t dampened her trust or love of people and she will make someone or some family a really wonderful companion.”
Yuki found her forever home with lovely people!
