Cookie
Cookie came into Hamilton Animal Control as a stray. While at HAC, staff noticed blood coming from her vaginal area. This is a sign of pyrometra, which is a uterine infection. Cookie was sent to the vet for an emergency spay surgery, which she recovered well from. She was then sent back to HAC.
We rescued Cookie, got her a check up at our vet and she’s now settled in at her foster home. Cookie is a lovely, calm kitty. Very friendly with a purr that never shuts off.
Here’s a note from Cookie’s foster home:
“Cookie is a gentle, graceful feline who can also be quite playful. Once she gets to know you she will initiate a game of fetch, like a dog – if you throw her favourite ball she will run and fetch it and bring it back to you to throw again until you, or she gets tired. When you come home she will greet you at the door and will come when you call her. While you’re doing paper work, reading or napping she’ll lay beside you quietly enjoying your company, which she always seems to really appreciate. She’s very smart and communicative, making comments when you talk to her, and seems to understand. In the morning she’s fairly quiet and will jump on the bed, but never on you, to see if you’re awake and purr in your ear or lay beside you. But if you tell her not to bother you, amazingly, she will leave and wait patiently until she hears you stirring and waking up; so considerate and patient, especially for a cat. She enjoys looking out the window and basking in the sunlight. Altogether she’s a joy to have for good company around the house and deserves a very appreciative and attentive owner.”
Cookie found her forever home with lovely people!
An update from Cookie’s forever home:
“Hello Ladybirds 🙂
Cookie is settling in quite well and is making friends with her new sister Luna. Cookie is a delight to have around; very energetic and curious, super chatty. We have nightly games of “stop attacking our feet under the covers” which are really fun.
We are so happy to have Cookie and can’t thank you enough for choosing us to be her servants. I’ve attached a couple of pictures of her if you want to add them to the website.
Take care!
Julie, Tony, Luna and Cookie”
