Forest
Forest came into Hamilton Animal Control as a stray. He had a large (very large!) abdominal hernia, but was super friendly and happy despite the discomfort it must have been causing him. Animal Control provided Forest the surgery he required to repair the hernia and they neutered him at the same time. Forest spent a few days healing in his cage at the shelter, and we were happy to rescue him when a foster home opened up. We took Forest to the vet for a check-up, vaccines and to be microchipped and he settled in nicely at his foster home.
Forest is now healed from his surgery and our vets gave us the go ahead that he’s ready to find his forever home!
Here’s a report from his foster home:
“Forest LOVES affection. He warmed up right away, purring and crawling all over me looking for rubs and scratches! And three weeks later that has not changed a bit! Forest is the most affectionate cat I have ever known. He flings himself into my lap multiple times a day looking for belly scratches and cheek rubs, purring non-stop! If I’m not available he rubs up on my cat or dog! I often wake up in the night to find him curled up against me or wrapped around my head on the pillow.
Forest is wonderful with people. He is great with calm dogs that won’t chase him. He is amazing with other cats. My cat hissed at him a few times when he arrived and he took it in stride and continued on his way. Now they are thick as thieves, chasing each other all over the house!
Forest hates going into his crate and doesn’t like the car but he loves visiting the vet. He loves all the petting and attention he gets while he’s there!
Forest was skittish when he arrived and got spooked very easily. He has become a lot more comfortable but if there’s a loud noise or someone startles him he will still run underneath the bed. He bounces back very quickly though! I call his name and he comes running right out for hugs and more petting!
He loves catnip toys and any toy with a string! He also loves treats!
He is a really wonderful and loving cat and will be a great addition to any family!”
Forest found his forever home with a lovely family!
