Hanson
Hanson was found wandering outside near an apartment building in Hamilton. The landlord of the building was told that when a tenant passed away, the remaining family put Hanson outside when they cleaned out the apartment and left without him. Hard to believe anyone would do something so cruel, especially after the poor cat had just lost his human companion.
Hanson was taken to Hamilton Animal Control and we were happy to rescue him from there and take him straight to the vet. Hanson was very thin and had very loose stool while he was at HAC. After some tests at the vet, it was discovered that Hanson has a thyroid issue. He now takes a daily medication and is on a special gastro intestinal food from the vet. He has responded quite well to both by gaining a little bit of weight in his foster home and having much more formed poops! Our vets recommend he stay on both the medication and the special food for the rest of his life. * Ladybird will cover Hanson’s thyroid medication in his forever home *
He’s a very laid back cat, and very friendly. He’ll make a great companion for the right person. A quieter home would be best for him since he is in his senior years.
We know his health issues will make it much harder for Hanson to find a forever home, but he is such a lovely cat, we want someone to have the opportunity to have him as a forever friend. He really is a special guy!
Here’s a note from Hanson’s foster home:
“Hanson is sweet and gentle giant. He’s snuggly, purry, he loves belly rubs, being brushed and even though he’s an old guy, he still plays. He’s super mellow, not much phases him. We let him out with our other cat and he was not bothered at all. He takes a daily pill for his thyroid which he gulps right down in a pill pocket. He has some tummy problems which means he uses his litter tray quite a lot and doesn’t always cover his poops but we have two trays out for him and that works. He’s a really sweet and friendly old guy and deserves a nice home to live out his days.”
Hanson found his forever home with a wonderful person!
