Duke
Maggie and Duke ended up at Hamilton Animal Control after their owner passed away. We rescued them from HAC and placed them into a foster home. We got them both some much needed dental work, and now that they’re healed, they’re ready to find their forever home!
Here’s a note from their foster mom:
“Duke and Maggie are like an old married couple. They enjoy being together and get a bit anxious when separate, but they also have their little disagreements. They spend a lot of time lying together in their bed.
Maggie enjoys sitting beside you on the couch or on top of you when you lay down. She is a bit of a food hound, paying close attention to your dinner plate. If the garbage is within her reach, she will get into it and share the wealth with Duke. She has started to play a bit, rolling on the carpet and pawing at toys, while giving small barks to get your attention.
Duke is the more affectionate of the two, and he likes to give kisses.
They are not exactly leash trained and Duke in particular doesn’t like the harness or collar. Neither of them like to go outside if it is cool or wet, but on recent warm days they did enjoy the sun and wandering around the yard. They will go to the washroom outside, but also use pee pads indoors.
They are fairly low-maintenance dogs who would do best in a quiet home with older adults.”
Maggie and Duke found their forever home with a lovely person!
