Harriet
Harriet found her forever home with a lovely family!
We rescued Harriet from Hamilton Animal Control. She was found as a stray. Her nails were very overgrown and her underside was quite matted. Seems as if poor Harriet wasn’t properly looked after before she was abandoned by her owners.
Harriet has now healed from her spay surgery, so she’s looking for her forever home!
Here’s a note from Harriet’s foster home:
“Harriet is an adorable bunny who loves to explore new places and meet new furry friends. She is great with her foster siblings, a dog and two cats. If they invade her space then she will let them know. Harriet is happiest out of her pen hopping around the house checking things out.
Harriet is great at using her litter box.
Harriet is still getting used to the fact that humans are her friend and she can relax with them. Harriet loves being pet and will sit forever having her ears and cheeks rubbed. Harriet startles easily so sometimes if you move too quickly she will let you know by giving you a little swat. Harriet is slowly starting to tolerate being picked up but does not like it. Because she can be skittish, I do not think she would do well in a home with young children.
I think that with a bit of time, a lot of love and some Kale (her favourite!) Harriet will learn to trust her forever family and do really well.
Please consider adopting sweet Harriet and giving her the loving home she deserves.”
Our fostered rabbits are housed in x-pens or similar enclosures so they have lots of room to move around when they aren’t out for floor time. Commercially made pet store rabbit cages are far too small to allow rabbits to stretch out and move around with ease.
Here are some great websites outlining alternative rabbit housing using x pens and similar enclosures.
