Pip and Butch the lovebirds came from a high-volume shelter in Quebec. Big thanks to Freedom Drivers volunteers for delivering the birds to Hamilton for us!
Butch is missing a foot, and has some beak damage but it doesn’t seem to bother him much. Pip and Butch were happy and chirping shortly after their arrival, and they both have healthy appetites. Their vet check went well, and shortly after the vet visit, their foster home decided that they should stay forever!
Congrats on being adopted Butch and Pip!
August 2017 Update from Pip and Butch’s adopter:
“…Pip n’ Butch…these young peach faced lovebirds have found their way to our ‘flock’ (we now have eight birds…four of which are rescues) and they are doing great…Butch’s beak is in much better condition…it was a calcium build up that has been removed and the beak is healthy…he really likes to have it stroked…and his missing leg seems to cause no discomfort…Pip is now very well adjusted and happily hops on fingers and likes a head rub…so a success story! (although they poop ALOT!…hahaha)
many thanks to Ladybird Animal Sanctuary for their continuing good works…get involved…you will be glad you did…“
