Kaya
In 2011, we put a call out for help with a kitty named Kaya who was awaiting her fate at Hamilton Animal Control. She has a condition called cerebellar-hypoplasia, a neurological disorder which makes her a little wobbly on her feet. We found a foster, and eventual adopter for Kaya, and we thought that was the end of her journey.
Four years later, in late June of 2015, we received notice from Hamilton Animal Control saying that Kaya had come in as a stray and her microchip had traced back to us. All attempts to contact the adopter came to dead ends, and nobody ever called or came into HAC to claim Kaya. We have no idea what her story has been for the last four years of her life, but we were happy to be able to get her out of HAC for the second time and put her into a foster home.
Kaya was in pretty good shape when we rescued her the second time, other than having very long and overgrown nails. She was certainly well fed and her coat was clean. She had a check-up at the vet the day of her rescue, and the vet commented on her good condition. Why Kaya ended up being found wandering outside, we’ll never know.
She’s a happy, happy girl, and likes to flop for belly rubs. She’ll be a wonderful companion for someone who will want to make her their forever kitty!
Kaya has been adopted by a lovely family!
