Tank
* Tank found his forever home with an awesome person! Yay! *
Meet Tank Cat! He’s gigantic and awesome! All 25 pounds of him!
Sweet Tank came into Hamilton Animal Control as a stray. Not sure how a cat as big as Tank ends up on the streets…especially since he doesn’t want to take more than a few steps before he lays down for a rest…but we digress. Tank came into HAC as a stray and nobody came looking for him. When he arrived at the shelter, he was very (very) matted. HAC staff did their best to shave off as much of the matting as they could, and he seemed much more comfortable. Tank quickly became a shelter staff favourite because of his friendly nature and his expert head bonking skills. And because he’s so massive and cute!
When a foster home opened up, we were happy to spring big ol’ Tank from the shelter and we took him straight to the vet. Tank had a check up, blood work (all normal and FIV and FeLV negative. Yay!), and he had his rabies vaccine. Some of his teeth have quite a bit of tartar on them and he should have a dental cleaning, but the vet said he needed to lose a few pounds before he could have that surgery. So, Tank is now on a strict diet to help him shed some weight.
We took him to his foster home, where he made himself quite comfortable right away, as you can see in the “pet my belly” photo.
We were giving Tank some time to chill in his foster home so he could lose a bit of weight in preparation for the dental surgery he needs…but when Tank’s foster mom went on holiday and left Tank with her mom, the inevitable happened and mom fell in love with Tank and wanted him to stay! Tank’s new “sister” is Ladybird adoption alumni Pearl, and they get along swimmingly!
Congrats on your forever home Tank!
