Sydney
* Sydney found her forever home with a lovely person! *
Sydney came into Hamilton Animal Control as a stray. Because she was so rail thin, we had her tested for FIV and FeLV and both were negative. Yay! Our vets are not sure why Sydney was so skinny, but her foster home did a great job of getting some much needed weight onto her. We had Sydney spayed, and she healed very well in her foster home. Now she’s ready to find her forever home!
Here’s a report from Sydney’s foster home:
“Sydney is a beautiful green eyed calico tabby cat. She is just over 1 year old. When Sydney came to us she was very skinny, but with the help of some canned food she is getting back to a good weight. She is so sweet and likes to snuggle. She really enjoys being around people. Sydney plays independently with a variety of toys. She loves blankets and we often find her snuggled underneath them. She also likes to be up high. We haven’t had a chance to test her with cats and dogs yet, but we think she would be fine with them with proper introductions. She would be a lovely addition to any family!”
Please adopt Sydney!
How Sydney got her name…
Earlier this week we received a generous donation from the most beautiful family foundation. Sydney Wood Purple Butterfly of Hope Foundation was created by the Wood family after the very sudden loss of their daughter, Sydney (11), in 2012. The foundation raises funds through community events and then donates to various community causes that Sydney likely would have backed. We’re honoured to have the support of this selfless foundation to honour the memory of a truly incredible person. We’d like to extend love and thanks to Sue, Greg, Mallory and Kamryn for your generosity and kindness. We’re certain that Sydney is so proud of the work that you’ve done in her memory.
