Fozzie
** Fozzie found his forever home with lovely people! **
Fozzie was brought into Hamilton Animal Control as a stray. This poor senior boy was clearly neglected. He was missing most of his fur, he was very itchy, he desperately needed dental surgery, and he had some mobility issues. Despite all these issues, Fozzie was a friendly guy, though he must have been feeling pretty yucky.
After a couple of months in foster care, Fozzie is now doing great! His fur is growing back and his mobility has improved ten fold. He’s enjoying being spoiled by his foster family, and he even got to visit beautiful Wolfe Island! Fozzie is a world traveler!
We’re sure he was thankful for the little holiday, since a few weeks of his time in foster care had been filled with frequent vet visits and tests. Fozzie’s blood work kept coming back with issues, but the vet has thankfully ruled out Addison’s disease. Still not exactly sure what the problem was (possibly the stress of everything he was going through), but eventually things balanced out and his blood work came back without issue. Once his blood work was normal, we could finally get him his much needed dental surgery and the vet removed 12 rotten teeth. So many! Poor Fozzie must have been in so much pain for so long…
He healed up perfectly from this surgery, and Fozzie is now ready to find his forever home!
Thank you to Dr. Wimmers and the fine folks at Limestone Valley Veterinary Hospital for helping Fozzie feel better!
Here’s a note from his foster home, er…from Fozzie himself!
“Hello all, my name is Fozzie and I am a dog. I am a very good dog. I am a dog who knows how to love. Just look at my beautiful chocolate drop melt away eyes and you can see my soul. I may seem small, but I have a great and mighty heart.
I was rescued from a pretty bad situation at the shelter. Fur was missing from my chest to toes as I was being eaten alive by fleas. So itchy and uncomfortable. I had been without food for a while and was super skinny and weak. Walking was very hard as my muscles had wasted. But Ladybird saw what I was and rescued me. I have been with a foster family since the beginning of September. We have had to work on my health and I had 12 teeth removed, but now I am feeling better. Everything seems to be improving. I am stronger and healthy and full of beans.
I am a spunky dog with a lot of energy and character. I love cats and dogs and people. I love walking and eating and sleeping. I love cookies and cuddling. As I feel better more and more of my personality is starting to shine through.
I think that I would be happy in any situation. If you are looking for an only dog to love, I am your canine. If you are home a lot, I am great company and love a good routine. I’ll just hang out and love you. I am a little bit older so am happy to just hang with you wherever you go and whatever you do.
I hope this helps with you getting to know me. I am ready for a forever home.”
Please adopt Fozzie!
