Bella
* Bella found her forever home with a lovely person! *
Back in June 2017, Bella was surrendered to Hamilton Animal Control by her owners because of allergies in the family. During her time at the shelter, it was discovered that Bella despises other cats. She really, really doesn’t like them. She basically hates every cat, no matter how friendly he or she may be. If there’s a cat in Bella’s space, she kinda freaks out.
Even though Bella is a very sweet cat to humans, her cat-hating attitude made her a tough candidate for rescue, because most foster homes have other cats in them. But, we were lucky enough to have a cat-free foster home open up, and we were thrilled to finally get Bella out of the shelter!
We got Bella the much needed dental surgery she needed and the vet ended up removing six rotten teeth. Poor girl must have been in so much pain! Bella is a bit overweight (14+ pounds!) so she’s been put on a special diet to try to help her shed a few pounds. Bella healed well from her surgery and now she can start the search for her forever home!
Here’s a report from Bella’s foster home:
“What can I say about Ms. Bella!
She is a very sweet girl who loves to be loved. She is a bit of a diva and is prone to some eccentricities.
A comfy living room chair is her favourite spot but she also enjoys sitting at my feet. For some reason, she likes to lick my slippers. (Would that be a feline foot fetish?)
She has a beautiful coat and she adores being brushed. (But what diva doesn’t?)
On the whole, Bella is very easy going. I was told that she needs to be the only cat in the house and she is …… sort of.
One day, not long after she arrived, she was keeping me company as I was getting ready to go to work. I was doing my thing and not paying much attention when all of a sudden, I heard Bella growling and hissing. What the heck? I looked down and there she was, having an all-out cat fight with her own reflection in a mirror! She was batting her paws and working herself into such a state, I had to turn the mirror around so she couldn’t see that “other” cat. I nearly died laughing. What a silly kitty!
Now, it’s become a regular thing in our house. That “other” cat has shown up in the oddest of places: the glass doors on the TV stand, that old floor length mirror in the basement, the bathroom tiles and, best of all, the brass plate at the foot of my front door! It’s a bit of a game now – I hear the hiss and look for Bella to see which “other” cat she is sparring with. To be honest, I had no idea I had so many reflective surfaces in my house!
If you want a senior cat who is set in her ways, who will love you forever and who will make you giggle at her funny ways, Bella is your gal!”
Please adopt Bella!
