Boo
* Boo found his forever home with lovely people! *
Little Boo came into Hamilton Animal Control as a stray. He was placed with two other unrelated kittens (Caramel and Chip) who were close in age. Unfortunately, it seems these two mistook Boo’s groin area for the perfect place to suckle. They were clearly missing their mom since they were too young to be away from her. The two kittens caused a bit of trauma to Boo’s business, and he started to have trouble peeing. Off to the vet! Boo was suffering from a pretty bad infection, and the fantastic folks at Animal Hospital of Stoney Creek worked very hard for several days to get Boo feeling better. Not easy to put a catheter in such a small patient! Boo remained happy, playful and purry through it all, despite how awful he must have been feeling. After four days at the clinic, Boo was finally urinating on his own, and he was been placed in a foster home that is close to the clinic, in case there were any issues and he needed to go back to the vet quickly.
It’s a good thing he was close to the clinic, because Boo needed to go back several times over the next couple of months. The infection returned, and he needed more tests and medications. His foster home did a fantastic job of getting him to all these appointments, and getting medication into Boo. Never an easy task to medicate a cat! After many ups and downs, Boo has finally been given the all-clear by the vet to find his forever home.
As you can see, Boo is really cute. He is pretty much the perfect little kitten. Every one at the shelter, the vet clinic and his foster home, immediately fell madly in love with him and his ridiculous cuteness. We’re so happy Boo made it through his ordeal and that he recovered well. Big thanks to all the staff at Animal Hospital of Stoney Creek, and to his foster home for going above and beyond for this little guy.
Boo made friends with the other cats and the dogs in his foster home. We are asking that his forever home have at least another playful cat for him to be friends with…but if there’s more than one cat, that’s great too!
Here’s a note from Boo’s foster home:
“Boo is the sweetest little fluffy kitty! He is a super soft medium haired boy with a unique black coat with a grey undercoat poking through. He will grow into a beautiful cat! Boo is a fun loving, playful, and happy kitten. He lives to play play play then cuddle up for a nap with his people! Boo is a very friendly and curious boy. He loves to explore everything and goes nuts for his toys. He will crawl into cupboards and closets, which we’ve learned to watch for after accidentally locking him in a closet for an hour. He loves other animals and bonds very well with other cats and even dogs! After an afternoon of running around he just wants to cuddle and will find me and curl up against me for a nap. He is very easygoing and will let me carry him all over the house and even enjoys when I cradle him on his back like a baby! He likes to sleep in the bed at night and will curl up right on my pillow beside my head. Sometimes he does decide 4 am is time for fun and wakes me up in the night, but generally he sleeps very well! He does have an independent side and will find a quiet place to curl up for a nap and I may not hear a peep out of him for a few hours. Then he’s back looking for fun, fun, fun!
As Boo loves playing and bonding with other animals he would do best in a family with another playful cat in the home. Boo is an energetic boy and he needs the fun and stimulation of another cat in order to truly be happy.
When Boo came to me he was very sick. He was being treated for a horrible bladder infection and had just begun peeing on his own again. It took almost 2 months for him to get over the infection completely and obtain a clean bill of health. Even during those first few weeks when he must have been feeling awful this little guy never stopped purring. He has been the happiest guy from day one and I’m sure his positive spirit is what pulled him through. Despite his issues, he is 100% litter trained and even when he was at his sickest and going pee every 10 minutes he still ran back into his litter every single time. He now functions completely normally. His recovery has been quite amazing!
Boo’s new family will be very lucky, he is a truly special cat and will give his new family tons of fun and tons of love!”
